Colaba Sailing Club

The Colaba Sailing Club was founded in 1936. It was envisaged by a group of enterprising sailors who saw the potential of a Port Trust shed near Sassoon Dock for the purpose of building boats and promoting interest in sailing. And now, 73 years since its birth, the membership is now 700 strong comprising of many junior members, especially college students. The Sailing Club holds camps over weekends where novices are taught the basics of sailing. Almost all accomplished sailors of the Mumbai sailing circuit hold a special place in their hearts for the Colaba Sailing Club.
