GAT at IHCTM

In 2004 IHCTM had pioneered the Golden Airline & Travel Plan. In 2008 we are updating the curriculum to meet the current demands of the industry, thus making it more tourism and airline-centric. GAT (now known as GOLDEN AIRLINE & TOURISM) Career Plan will continue to be a 2-year programme with additional upgrades to further benefit the participants.

This unique course is conceived by Subhash Motwani, Director of IHCTM, holder of 22 IATA qualifications and Director of Compact Travels Pvt. Ltd.

Eligibility: Pre-requisites include graduation with fluency in English and strong communication skills. In exceptional cases, persons with Higher Secondary but pursuing graduation maybe considered. Admission is confirmed only after passing an entrance test and interview with the Course Director. As admission to GAT is limited to 25 participants, aspirants are advised to complete the formalities at their earliest.

Duration: GAT comprises of 2 phases of 1 year each.
 

PHASE 1    
 INTRODUCTION TO THE INDUSTRY

Qualifications include:                                                                                                                                                                                    Duration: 1 year
  • IATA/UFTAA Foundation Diploma Programme, Level 1   OR
  • Diploma in Compact Travel & Tourism from IHCTM with choice of any one CRS from VIASINC, USA and Fares & E-ticketing (VA-1) from VIRGIN ATLANTIC, U.K.

  • PEPCO (Power Personality, Effectiveness Techniques, Presentation Skills, Communication Effectiveness and Opportunities for Growth) Diploma from IHCTM.
  • One Conversational Foreign Language for Beginners: Arabic OR French OR German OR Italian OR Spanish.
 

FEES FOR PHASE 1: Rs. 97000 (including IATA registration, training fees and course material). Enrol before 31st August 2008 and receive a concession of Rs. 12000 (i.e. Phase 1 Fees reduce to Rs. 85000). -OR- By Instalments: Rs. 27000 on enrolment and Rs. 12000 x 5 monthly instalments thereafter (i.e. Phase 1 Fees by Instalments: Rs. 87000).

OPPORTUNITY TO EARN DURING PHASE 1: During Phase 1, you are provided with a 6-month internship and training in customer service, marketing, travel and tourism with a minimum stipend of Rs. 5000 p.m. You accordingly earn Rs. 30000, making the EFFECTIVE COST of Phase 1: Rs. 55000.

 
FOR ADMISSION INTO PHASE 2, you are required to:
  • Successfully complete all projects and pass all examinations.
  • Complete a minimum 6 months full-time internship during Phase 1.

PHASE 2
HIGHER MANAGEMENT

Qualifications include:                                                                                                                                                                                   Duration: 1 year
  • IATA/UFTAA Stepping Into Management Diploma Programme, Level 3
  • IATA/UFTAA Senior Management Diploma Programme, Level 4
  • A Familiarization (FAM) Tour to Singapore OR Malaysia OR Thailand OR Sri Lanka worth Rs. 40000 (on twin sharing basis) providing international travel exposure and firsthand knowledge of the destination.

 

FEES FOR PHASE 2: Rs. 124000 (including IATA registration, training fees, course material and FAM tour). Enrol before 31st August 2008 and receive concession of Rs. 6000 (i.e. Phase 2 Fees reduce to Rs. 118000). - OR - By Instalments: Rs. 24000 on enrolment and Rs. 12000 x 8 monthly instalments thereafter (i.e. Phase 2 Fees by Instalments: Rs. 120000).

 

OPPORTUNITY TO EARN DURING PHASE 2: During Phase 2, you are provided with a 12 months internship and further training in customer service, marketing, travel and tourism with a minimum stipend of Rs. 7000 p.m. You accordingly earn Rs. 84000, in addition to the cost of the FAM Tour at Rs. 40000, making the EFFECTIVE COST of Phase 2: NIL with further earning of Rs. 6000

 

TOTAL COST FOR THE COMPLETE GAT CAREER PLAN: Rs. 49000 (after deducting internship stipend and cost of FAM Tour.)

Your achievements after completing the GAT CAREER PLAN will include:
